Papillon

Papillon was one of those dolls that was supposed to have been made a long time ago. I had her in my head....sort of. I even managed to draw several sketches of her. But she was always in my peripheral vision and she would never come to where I could "see" her plainly. I had made her stand months ago.....even then I couldn't convince her to come out of hiding!

Suddenly one evening....when I should have been going to bed, I knew I was ready to begin work on her. She came together so quickly that even now it seems like a blur.

Papillon is 19.5" tall including her base. She's paper clay and fabric over an armature.

She's beautiful. Love the colors and the wings are great - the movement of the FME really works.

She wears her name well, Angela. Few can compare to the exquisite butterfly, and Papillon will flit throught the flowers with the best of them.

Love you -- Rita

I kept expecting to blink and she'd have flown away! BEAUTIFUL! Your dolls have such charm - not only in their beauty, but in the perception of movement! Love your work!

Angela, this is beautiful!!
I also loved your Fates and every other doll you have posted, but this one has something more... not sure what, but it is probably my favourite! :)
If you'll ever set up an online class, be sure to count me in!! :)

Tagging! It's not just for Mimiville today.. ;) You know what to do...

1. What was your high school decade?
2. Are you still friends with your high school friends?
3. What was your favorite thing about high school?
4. Your least favorite?
5. Did you have a high school sweetheart? And how did that work out?!
6. Would you do the whole high school thing again, or is it better left in the past?!
